What is the goal of Swing Trader?
Swing Trader is a short term stock recommendation service. Our aim with this service is to identify short term swings in stocks which lasts anywhere between 6% to 20%. We use time tested strategies based on technical analysis to identify such trading opportunities.
What does Swing Trader Offer?
Swing Trader offers recommendations in the cash segment of Indian Equity markets. Recommendations are made only on an end of the day basis. The report includes a price chart of the stock recommended and it also lists out the points why we think a stock is worth a buy.
Please note that when one is trading in the cash market one can short sell only on an intraday basis as one has to cover the shorts before the trading session ends. Hence we avoid recommending short selling ideas in Swing Trader.
Who is the editor of Swing Trader?
Apurva Sheth (Research Analyst), Editor of Swing Trader, is a technical analyst with substantial experience. In the past, Apurva has helped banks, mutual funds, insurance companies, FIIs, among others make profits based on his recommendations. He is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) and a member of the Market Technician Association (USA). Apurva was also regular guest/contributor on Zee Business and The Economic Times.
What is the frequency of the reports and what is the minimum number of reports expected annually?
We do not have a fixed schedule for recommending stocks. Whenever we see an opportunity we send a recommendation report to our subscribers along with the stock name, recommendation price, stoploss and target percentage.
Kindly note that, as we will be trading only the long side of the market, the frequency of recommendations may reduce in weeks when markets are falling, and the frequency of recommendations may increase when markets are rising. Whatever the market condition, our focus will always be quality and accuracy rather than quantity.
Will stocks with low liquidity be recommended?
All the listed stocks will be part of the core trading universe under Swing Trader. However, to ensure that the stock has enough depth and liquidity over a long span of time, I filter stocks based on volumes before I recommend them. This helps in getting a timely entry / exit in case a level (target or stoploss) is hit. So, under Swing Trader, only those stocks whose average turnover for last 120 days is more than Rs 4 crore are recommended.
How long should one hold on to a stock?
These recommendations will be closed within a short time frame of a few weeks. However, this time period may vary depending on market conditions.
What are the expected returns?
Our goal is to generate a return on capital in excess of 20% per year. The goal of this service is to outperform the returns delivered by the NSE Nifty over a year. Please note that equity trading is high risk, and actual returns may be higher or lower than this figure depending on overall market performance.
